One of my first larger scale paintings in 2020, this piece is made on office art that hung in my ex-wife’s office in NYC’s Financial District. When the pandemic hit, her company gave up the office and we went to the clean it out. In a truly bizarre, post-apocalyptic time in New York City, police violence was skyrocketing as I simultaneously made my foray into the corporate world. I believe it’s the role of the artist to imagine new ways of the future. This piece asks, “What would the world be like without CEOs, and without a police force?” Perhaps we would return to our most natural state- color, texture, one-ness with Spirit.
